Nurse Manager - Operating Room

The Nurse Manager of the Operating Room at Riddle Hospital oversees the operations of the nursing unit(s) both clinically and administratively. He / She is accountable for providing leadership to staff in the maintenance of professional nursing practice, provision of quality patient care and a culture of safety.

Our OR sees a myriad of cases, but is not limited to: general, GU/GYN, orthopedics, ENT, eyes, and laparoscopic minimally invasive surgeries. We will be adding a Robotic Service in the near future to provide the community with options to have particular surgeries done robotically.

The Job Responsibilities of the Operating Room Nurse Manager include but are not limited to:

• Accept responsibility for assigned areas under the direction of the Director of Nursing/ Vice President of Patient Care Services.
• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to be accountable for patient care activities and the development of staff in a fiscally sound manner.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure quality patient care and satisfaction.
• Is a leader and facilitator in shared decision-making initiatives, at the clinical, departmental, and system levels, resulting in a superior patient experience.
• Lead in accordance with professional practice standards as set forth by the American Nurses Association, PA Nurse Practice Act, regulatory standards and MLH policies and procedures.

Previous Operating Room Nurse Manager or OR Leadership Experience Required.

Three to five years clinical experience in area of responsibility preferred.

Education:
Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
BSN or other related Bachelors Degree required; MSN or other related Masters Degree preferred.

Licensures & Certifications:
A current PA RN license.
Maintains validation of current BLS training (CPR).
CNOR highly preferred.
