Title: Environmental Care Associate
The Environmental Care Associate is a position designed to facilitate efficiency and patient satisfaction. The Environmental Care Associate provides for a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Essential Accountabilities:
Prioritizes responsibilities centered around the needs of the patient, staff and visitor, managing time to achieve maximum productivity.
Observes and reports any unusual situations, reactions, effects or conditions in a timely manner.
Observes all policies regarding patient rights and patient confidentiality.
HOUSEKEEPING - GENERAL
Perform cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods.
Use equipment and chemicals for their intended purpose, ensuring that equipment and hospital property are not damaged.
Be accountable for assigned area or project, for completion of duties and then inspection of area or project, for cleanliness, appearance, and that all instructions from management have been followed.
HOUSEKEEPING – PATIENT ROOMS
Completes seven step patient room and bathroom cleaning.
Refreshes rooms, checks patients and rooms regularly.
Handles emergency clean-up.
Performs discharge and transfer cleaning.
Maintains working stock of supplies.
Education:
Ability to understand/communicate in English, both in writing and verbally to sufficiently perform job requirements.
Experience:
Previous experience in a health care environment preferred.
