2023 Nurse Extern Program | System Travel Agility Team
Main Line Health is now offering the unique opportunity to nursing students to gain valuable, hands-on clinical experience while having the flexibility to manage their school and personal life. We are offering part time, year-round paid positions on all shifts in most clinical specialties. This is an exceptional opportunity to prepare for the clinical setting after graduation.
The Nurse Extern Program is designed for anyone currently enrolled in a nursing program. You will have the opportunity to partner with a Registered Nurse and have your own patient assignments. Typical responsibilities include AM care, PM care, EKGs, blood glucose monitoring and finger sticks, and phlebotomy training.
The System Travel Agility Team (STAT) operates as an internal float department, improving our flexibility in patient care services and creating a strategy to meet the future needs of our acute care units. Each STAT Nurse Extern is responsible for providing coverage and patient care for all of our Main Line Health Hospitals: Lankenau Medical Center, Bryn Mawr Hospital, Paoli Hospital and Riddle Hospital.
Qualifications
- Actively enrolled in an accredited RN or BSN program
- Ability to meet a 16 hour per month commitment during the fall and spring semesters and 24 hours per week commitment during the summer (June/July/August).
- Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekend (Saturday & Sunday) shifts.
