Title: Thrift Shop Associate
 
This position works every Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday from 9:00am to 4:45pm.
 
Essential Accountabilities:
  1. Performs various clerical duties and cashiering as assigned by the manager.
  2. Receive, evaluate and price donations for volunteer to process; schedule appointments to receive and process consignments.
  3. Manage and train volunteers, direct their activities and train in the use of the computer/cash register for processing consignments and donations.
  4. Perform routine duties normally assigned to volunteers as necessary to maintain shop function – e.g. telephone, scheduling, consigning, registration, sales, cashier, etc.
 
                                                 
Other Accountabilities:
  1. Function in all areas of shop which are essential to operation.
  2. Accomplish routine chores.
  3. Keep shop appearance well maintained. Straightens merchandise, puts merchandise out on selling floor in a neat and visually attractive manner, helps maintain shops displays and overall cleanliness of shop. Ensures that placement of merchandise on floor does not create a safety hazard.
  4. Provides excellent customer service. Assists customers as needed to ensure customer satisfaction, e.g. assist customers wanting to see something in locked cases, assist them when claiming their merchandise, assist them with inquiries about merchandise.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Education:
High School graduate required; ability to read, understand, and follow directions in English required.
 
Experience:
  1. Resale or retail experience
  2. Ability to evaluate and price merchandise
  3. Familiarity with computers/cash register
  4. Ability to interact positively with the public
  5. Familiarity with Consignment process
