Seeking a Fulltime Surgical Technician at Lankenau Medical Center:

 

The Surgical Technician maintains high standards of patient care as a member of a team engaged in the conduct of surgical procedures, under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Checks instruments, equipment and supplies for scheduled procedure.

  • Functions in the scrubbed capacity and enters the operating room suite in sufficient time to set up instruments and perform all counts prior to the start of surgery.

  • Performs sponge, needle and instrument counts with the circulating nurse accurately and according to operating room policy and procedure.

  • Maintains sterile technique and reports any breaks in asepsis to the circulating nurse.

  • Assists in providing physical care, comfort and safety while lifting and positioning patients by applying principles of proper anatomical alignment.

  • Assists with the safe transfer of the patient from the OR table to the patient’s bed.

    Fulltime, 40 hours

    Surgericenter

    Requirements:
    Successful completion of accredited course in Operating Room Technology
    Surgical Technician Certification preferred
    One year recent operating room experience preferred

    Successful completion of all orientation requirements
    Maintains validation of current CPR training

    Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English
