We have a newly created position for a motivated Security Officer to join our fast paced Public Safety Depts. located at our hospitals throughout the health system.

 

The Security officer protects life and property of all persons on hospital premises; patrols hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft and vandalism; secures, unlocks and protects hospital buildings; responds to security needs of hospital.

Job Accountabilities:

 

·       Provides a visible deterrence to crime and prohibited activities by patrolling the buildings and grounds of the hospital.

 

·       Investigates incidents of unusual circumstances reported by hospital personnel, visitors, physicians or patients; reports all incidents, verbally or through processing of security incident report before the end of assigned shift.

 

·       Responds to emergency calls for assistance to control disorderly conduct of combative patients, visitors or employees.

 

·       Responds to Code Red Fire Alarms, Code Pink Baby Alarms and other emergency needs.

 

·       Patrols buildings, grounds, and parking areas; inspects doors, windows and locks to ascertain level of security.

 

·       Responds quickly and effectively to emergent and non-emergent situations.

 

·       Escorts visitors, patients and personnel to and from parking areas, as requested.

 

·       Assists and gives courteous responses to any inquiries made by patients, visitors or personnel.

·       Enforces all hospital policies and procedures as assigned by Hospital Administration and the site Environmental Safety and Security Manager.

                                               

 

·     Monitors the hospital using electronic surveillance equipment.

 

·       Maintains all applicable logs as directed by supervisors.

 

Education:

  • High school diploma required

Licensures & Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

 

  •  Must be certified or eligible for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania State Lethal
