Our Record Integrity Specialist perform a variety of document auditing functions to ensure timely and accurate completion of records and accessibility to medical records.  Analyzes and corrects errors in transcription system and in electronic health record to match transcription with patient records.  Communicates directly with providers as a result of quality audits performed during the documentation verification process.  Demonstrates knowledge of federal, state and organization regulations and policy which relate to completeness of the Legal Medical Record. Demonstrates the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities.  Must be able to multi-task and maintain a customer service philosophy.  Demonstrates an aptitude for computer work and problem solving

Position: Record Integrity Specialist
Shift: Monday – Friday day shift with rotating weekend on call requirement.

Experience:
1.) Work experience in Health Information Management in an acute hospital setting is preferred. 

2.) Experience working in EPIC or other electronic health record management software is required. 

3.) Microsoft Office applications experience. 

4.) Basic Excel proficiency required.

5.) Strong oral and written communication and problem-solving skills are required. 

6.) Excellent customer service skills are required.

7.) Demonstrates knowledge of medical record content, documentation requirements, and state and federal regulatory requirements.

Education:
1.) High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Approved Medical Terminology is required.

2.) Associate’s Degree in HIM or Health Information Technology or its equivalent progress toward a baccalaureate degree is strongly preferred.

Licensures/Certifications:
Certification from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) is strongly preferred.
