The PA is a licensed medical provider who functions as part of a physician-led health care team that is multidimensional. The PA manages the patients along with the attending physician. S/he will autonomously order diagnostic and therapeutic measures that make sure the patient-care is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and patient-centered. The PA will continually monitor and adjust the care of the patient. A major role of the PA is to be the patient advocate in the medical system. The PA will act as a liaison between the patient and all providers on the team. The PA will coordinate the care of the patient when multiple physicians and providers are involved in the care of the patient. The PA may provide other patient care through the execution of standing orders/protocols and/or routine patient care tasks which are delineated in the written agreement. This position will not be performing or assisting with perioperative procedures
