Performs a variety of ultrasound procedures.

Verifies patient’s clinical history, ensuring information is accurate, documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.

Prepares patient for procedures; providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.

Actively participates in the identification of patients, confirming patient demographics, correct procedure, correct side and site, using active communication.

Selects and operates ultrasound equipment, imaging and associated accessories to successfully complete an examination.

Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting the patient’s ability and comfort.

Immobilizes patient as required for appropriate examination.

Determines applicable Ultrasound protocol.

Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification are recorded and resolves PACS and Information Systems documentation QA issues.

Applies principles of confidentiality (HIPAA) to all hospital and patient matters.

Documentation and reporting of adverse events, utilizing Patient Safety Network (PSN).

Performs additional duties as requested.

Travel to and/or staff other Main Line Health (MLH) Radiology locations may be necessary on occasion to promote effective, timely and consistent delivery of Radiology services.

Graduate of JRCERT approved programLicensures & Certifications:

RDMS certification required within one year of hireCARDIOLOGYEducation:
-
Graduate of an accredited cardiac ultrasound training program with an Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology or 3 years experience in the field.Licensures & Certifications:
-
RDCS, RCVT, RCS, preferred, or registry eligible. If registry eligible, registration must be obtained within 1 year.Experience:

Minimum of 1 year experience as a cardiac sonographer preferred.

Minimum of 3 years experience preferred if not a graduate of an accredited cardiac ultrasound training program.

Ability to perform Echo, Stress Echo, and assist with TEE.VASCULAREducation:

Graduate of an accredited ultrasound training program, or 3 years of experience in an institution with a specialized Vascular Diagnostic Lab (preferably an Accredited Laboratory).Licensures & Certifications:

ARDMS-RVT or CCI-RVS certification required within one year of hireExperience:
-
Three years experience as Vascular Ultrasound Technologist required.

Experience in a specialized, accredited Vascular Lab preferred.
