As the Lead PA / NP for the Cardiothoracic ICU specialty, you will perform diagnostic and therapeutic tasks under the responsibility and supervision of the surgeon. In addition to your clinical duties as a Lead, you will mentor, supervise, & educate members of your team, prepare & coordinate daily clinical / call schedules, and interview & select new members for the team.

Position: Lead Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner
Shift: Full time – 40 hours a week
Experience:
Minimum ten (10) years of experience in trauma/cardiothoracic/general surgery.
Some prior management experience desired.
Education:
1. Bachelor of Science degree in a physical science from an accredited institution required.
2. Must be a graduate of an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant program or graduate of an approved nurse practitioner program.
3. Must complete courses of training for both basic and advanced cardiac life support.
Licensures/Certifications:
1. Must be certified or eligible for certification by the NCCPA (National commission for Certification of Physician Assistants) and Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Education and Licensure or licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing Examiners as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP).
2. ACLS Certification.
3. Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required.
