Lactation Consultant Day / Eves

<p>The Lactation Consultants are responsible for supporting the practice of breastfeeding at the three acute care hospitals of Main Line Health.� Responsibilities include education, consultation, and support to expectant/new mothers, family members, the Nursing Staff, Attending Physicians, Midwives, and OB/GYN Residents.� Lactation Consultants also assist with the promotion of health maintenance of mothers and newborns delivering at MLHS.<br /><br />A. EDUCATION<br />1. Knowledge of fetal, newborn, and maternal anatomy/physiology.<br />2. Bachelors Degree in related discipline preferred.<br /><br />B. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, REGISTRATION<br />1. Current nursing license to practice in Pennsylvania preferred.<br />2. Certification with the International Board Lactation Consultants Examiners required.<br /><br />C. EXPERIENCE<br />1. A minimum of two years experience providing health care and /or education in Women�s Health.<br /><br />D. OTHER REQUIREMENTS<br />1. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.<br />2. Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.<br />3.
