- Make an Impact! As a Financial Counselor, you would complete insurance verification, pre-certification, first party payment arrangements and Time of Service collections (TOS) notification. You would also provide patients, physician offices and hospital departments with explanation of insurance benefits, limitations and authorization guidelines, provide patients with quotes for service, and identify potential Charity Care and Medical Assistance applicants. Our Financial Counselors are highly knowledgeable and act as a resource person for MLH for precertification issues.

Financial Counselor
Shift: Day Shift
Experience:
1. At least 2 years of recent experience in a financial counseling or patient
registration department required.
2. Excellent understanding of third party reimbursement and methodologies for
all third party payers (especially pre-certification and COB regulations)
required.
3. Working knowledge of medical terminology required.
4. Working knowledge of patient management and patient accounting computer
systems required.
5. Working knowledge of patient rights and compliance regulation required.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
