JOB TITLE: Development Representative
The Development Representative serves as an ambassador for the development program at the hospitals and the entire system’s fundraising initiatives. Provide administrative support to the development department by performing a variety of administrative and secretarial duties of a complex and confidential nature. Work independently to maintain flow of the workday by anticipating problems, prioritizing and solving issues, and keeping up with daily workload in a professional manner; working with judgment and discretion on behalf of the development leadership team.
Essential Accountabilities:
- Supports the daily operations of the Development office under the direction of the program managers (Annual Giving, Special Events, Donor Relations, Planned Giving, Corporate/Foundation Relations, Prospect Research, and hospital development offices).
- Answers telephone, screens and directs calls appropriately, and relays accurate messages and phone numbers in a timely manner.
- Assists with special projects for all members of the Central team, e.g., assisting Gift Entry during peak gift times, as needed.
- Maintains an accurate and efficient filing system for Central File Room and donor files.
- Supports all clerical functions as requested.
- Partners & assists the development staff on the annual & planned gift solicitations (including the donor, employee, and physician giving campaigns).
- Assist with development & foundation events across the system.
- Assist with implementing Development Communications.

Maintain confidential office files. Confidential use of the Hospital clinical database system and the computer based Development program.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
-
College graduate preferred. Ability to read, speak, communicate, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties as described.
Experience:
-
Two years of work experience required; one or more years of Development experience, preferably in healthcare or education, is desirable

Proven ability to use advanced components of a personal computer, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Raiser’s Edge, and Windows XP.

Excellent computer application and typing skills, excellent grammatical skills, and familiarity with standard business correspondence formats

Strong addition to detail and the ability to work independently.
