Could you be our next Hospital Coding Specialist I for our Health Information Management Department located in Newtown Square, PA? This is a remote opportunity, however, testing and orientation will be required on-site.
Full-Time Day Shift: Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday – Saturday.

  • Assessment Process: MLHS coding assessment and orientation will be conducted onsite. Proficiency of at least one record type of 80% or greater is required. This will determine Coder's Level.

Utilizes performance feedback to enhance coding skills. Demonstrates aptitude for basic code assignment and problem-solving. They assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes according to the Official Guidelines for coding and reporting - including, but not limited to AHA, AMA, AHIMA, CMS, NCHS, and MLHS-specific guidelines.

Experience
  • Up to one (1) year experience coding ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and DRG and/or APC assignment 
  • Possess a working knowledge of DRG and APC assignment 
  • Acute care facility experience preferred.
Education
  • Completion of basic coding courses from an AHIMA-accredited program required
  •  Associate Degree strongly preferred
Licensures/Certifications:
  •  CCA / CCS or eligible
